چکیده

Cellulose-based materials have been advanced technologies that used in water remediation. They exhibit several advantages being the most abundant biopolymer nature, high biocompatibility, and contain functional groups. Cellulose can be prepared derivatives including nanomaterials such as cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), nanofibrils (CNFs), TEMPO (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl radical)-mediated oxidized (TOCNF). The presence of groups carboxylic hydroxyls modified or grafted with organic moieties offering extra customizing for specific applications. These ensure capability biopolymers to nanoparticles metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), graphene oxide (GO), silver (Ag) nanoparticles, zinc (ZnO) nanoparticles. Thus, they applied remediation via removing pollutants heavy metal ions, dyes, drugs, microbial species. also microorganisms active membranes antibacterial agents. proceed into various forms membranes, sheets, papers, foams, aerogels, filters. This review summarized applications cellulose-based methods adsorption, catalysis, antifouling. performance well their simple processing potential

Nanofiber-Based Materials for Persistent Organic Pollutants in Water Remediation by Adsorption

Fresh water is one of the most precious resources for our society. As a cause of oxygen depletion, organic pollutants released into water streams from industrial discharges, fertilizers, pesticides, detergents or consumed medicines can raise toxicological concerns due to their long-range transportability, bio-accumulation and degradation into carcinogenic compounds. The Stockholm Convention has...

Cellulose Acetate Nanofiltration Membranes for Cadmium Remediation

In this work, cellulose acetate (CA) nanofiltration (NF) membranes were prepared via non-solvent phase inversion technique (NIPS). Polymer concentration was varied from 22 to 25 wt% in order to study its effect on the membrane properties. The fabricated membranes were characterized in terms of morphological analysis using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), contact angle, water content, water p...
